A change to Hamilton’s planning rules could be needed to stop another tyre mountain being stockpiled in the city, council staff have warned.
City councillors will get their first chance to publicly grill staff over the Frankton tyre affair at Thursday’s full council meeting.
Fallout from the tyre debacle escalated this week when Taupo’s Mayor David Trewavas accused the city council of knowingly allowing some tyres to be dumped in his district’s backyard, only 2km from Lake Taupo.
